Hey everyone:)

Here’s just a little update of what’s going on here:

Life is full and beautiful and breaking.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, my team and I teach English at a local school from 7:15-5:15. The mornings are filled with teaching preschool and the afternoons consist of teaching English to kids and teens of all ages. Sometimes it feels hard and tiring and maybe mundane, but so worth it. Even the days that seem to last forever have a beautiful blessing hidden in them. It’s worth it because they’re worth it. And they’re worth it because He is.

On Thursdays, the aim staff arrives at our base and our squad gets the opportunity to experience what’s called “Activation.” This is a time of morning worship,  a fire session, personal time with the Lord, breakout groups, and walking through the streets to put into action what we’ve learned. The words spoken in each session pierce my heart, offend my flesh, and bring healing through a brokenness.

Weekends are open for adventuring and resting. Sometimes, we go to a local town and walk around, sometimes I’ll sit in the sun while painting, sometimes I go to church and have a sweet lunch with friends, and sometimes it’ll look completely different than all of that.

My favorite thing about living here is the way I get to connect with those on the street everyday. So many connections come and intentional side quests take up my free time. There are so many people to pour into, and, something I’m so grateful for is how much my squad is filled up here.

On Sunday evenings, we try to have either squad time or worship. Mondays we have a broad view Bible study - going through the beginning of the Bible all the way to the end times. On Wednesdays we hold squad worship - with a different theme each week. On Fridays our host comes for a deep dive Bible study - going through Luke 4.

My days start early and the Lord has been helping me with diligence in early morning runs and intentional time with Him.

WHATS TO COME…

I have a week left of typical ministry, living at the base in Parramos, and operating in the consistency I have been.

PVT (parent vision trip) is coming up on the 8th of March, and for that we’ll move to a town called Antigua. This means that the racer’s parents will be joining us for a week of new ministry, sessions, worship, and community. I don’t know details of what this will look like yet, but I know the Lord is going to move!

After that, my squad will spend a week debriefing our last few months on the field. Our couches and mentors will fly in from the States and it’ll be a time of rest, reflection, vision, and being poured into so we can continue to overflow.

Leaving our debrief, my squad and I will drive to Honduras, where we will live in our tents and continue to overflow what the Lord has given for our final country on this race.

A PIECE OF MY HEART:

I wish you all could meet a little girl I see almost everyday - one the Lord has so deeply put on my heart. One of my students at school, a five year old, has become a continual point of intercession in my life. The first day I stepped foot in our little school and layed eyes on this precious soul, I knew there was something so special about her. I knew the Lord had me there for a reason, but I didn’t know what it was. Just two weeks ago I learned her story, and the story of her mom, and my heart shattered in a way it hasn’t in a long time. I looked at this little girl and knew instantly why I was there. I received a burden for her and my heart desires to bring the comfort she needs in more ways that one. A couple nights ago, I went on a walk around our base, lap after lap, as the Father asked me to. I walked under the dark stary night and cried for this little family. I won’t go into detail, as it’s their story and not mine, but I asked the Lord why such a thing would happen to hearts as little as theirs. Through the crying out, He gave me a rejuvenated passion for people experiencing the same thing. He said, “you see their physical needs, now go provide. You see their spiritual needs, now go provide.” My heart longs not to leave this little girl in a week, but go provide everything I can for her to get the nutrition she needs, the clothes to keep her warm, the hugs to make her feels seen, and the Jesus to walk her through life. Even more, my heart hurts for a young mom who is giving everything she has, while it seems not enough. Lord, please provide for your daughters, as Philippians 4:19 promises You will.

What a season Guatemala has been. Completely unique and completely beautiful. He’s showing me the blessing in it all, pouring out a heart for His people, and giving me a desire even deeper to follow what He has.
