Hey everyone:)
Itโs been 2 weeks since I landed โhomeโ (to one of many๐) and I have 2 weeks till I head out again. Itโs been an adjustment for sure, with some things being hard and some things bouncing with gladness.
One thing the Lord has put on my heart that Iโd like to share with you allโฆ. I have a couple needs that Iโm trusting the Lord to provide. 4 weeks back home isnโt quite enough time to work a job and I wonโt be able to work during summer training in GA.Therefore, saving up the funds that are needed to do life seems to be a little tricky. I trust that the Lord is going to provide, and Iโm excited to see what that looks like. He has promised that He will and I'm standing on this fact. With that being said, I would like to share that I need some help, and Iโd like to invite you all into this.
Here are some needs that Im facingโฆ
-
Gas! I will need to pay for gas down to GA for the summer and gas back home, as well as gas through my time in Gainesville, and extra transportation money while on the field.
-
Food! The food budget that I am given for the summer and during my time overseas means that I will most likely (speaking from experience) need to dig into my own pocket.
-
Shoes! My shoes from the last race have broken:/ and am in need of some new ones.
-
Big pack! The last pack I used was borrowed and is now broken. I will need to buy a 55L hiking backpack.
-
Flight! After training in GA for the summer, I will drive back home for 20 days. After that, I will need to fly back to GA to launch with my new squad!
-
Random needs while on the field/through the summer! This means small things like deodorant, chapstick, soap, watercolor paper, pens and markers, tooth brush and paste, etc.
-
Field Funds! Team time coffee, dr visits, squad adventures, etc.
-
I also have the fundraising need! I still need to raise $1,200 by the end of August to lead this trip.
All of these things I know the Lord will provide. Iโve seen Him do it before and Iโll see Him do it again.
With that being said, if you feel led to parter in anyway in the provision of these things, here are some ways you can do that:
If youโd like to parter in helping reach my fundraising goal, here is my World Race fundraising link:
https://adventuresinmissions.servicereef.com/events/adventures-in-missions-3/fall-semesters-sql/participants/marissa-nappier
These funds go towards lodging, baseline food, ministry transportation, and overseas flights.
If you feel led to give towards the extra needs listed (gas, domestic flights, food, small needs, pack, shoes, or field funds), my Venmo is:
@Marissa_Nappier
These things are not included in my fundraising goal, so will need to be paid for personally, which is why Iโll be using Venmo:)
Truly, truly, thank you for coming alongside your sister in this.
At first, I felt hesitant to write this blog. It felt weird to reach out about needs I thought should be able to reach on my own. But, the reality is that I canโt. The reality is that I wasnโt meant to in this season. Itโs a hard pill to swallow, but the Lord is beginning to show me the beauty in an invitation - the beauty in asking for help. If I knew of a person in need, I would want to help. Why do I expect that Godโs people donโt have a heart to do the same? Receiving is something that Iโm learning to do. It feels weird sometimes, but Iโm praying to see with fresh eyes while holding open hands. Thank you for being gracious with me in this.
Also, something I learned on the race is that God is good, all around the world. He is good, He is worthy, and He is sovereign. He deserves all the praise and I ask that you join me in giving God all the glory for what He's already been doing! I am so grateful to be among such a great cloud of witnesses. Thank you Jesus for your constant provision!!
