Hey:)

Welcome back to my little blog!

Sorry it’s taken so long to write a new one.

THE RACE IN A NUTSHELL

The World Race is so many things. It’s crying with those who are crying, laying face down in worship, jumping till your legs are jelly, taking photos with all the people, hugging the sweetest ladies, having a smile so big you can feel it, tossing and turning as you sleep on the floor, walking barefoot, early mornings and late nights, stepping way beyond your comfort zone, and being well loved while loving well.

Almost all of these things can and do happen in one room at the same time. When you live with so many people, you begin to see their hearts and share your own. Sharing one sink in a small space is opportunity for much patience. Living in ministry creates a space to be interruptable. I’ve learned so much these past few weeks and walked through a vast amount of experiences.

A LITTLE LOOK INTO MY WEEK

On Mondays and Tuesdays, my team and I teach English and math at a school for Rohingya refugees. On Wednesdays and Thursdays we work at a bakery for folks with special needs. We do crafts, sing songs, do dances, teach ASL and Spanish, paint a mural, design the logo, and bake with the precious people there. Each day is a unique experience and completely beautiful.

Last week, each night, we caroled into the wee hours of the morning. The week before, we practiced and practiced again. We learned a dance for our special Christmas Eve service. Each week we continue to have tambourine practice and soon we’ll pick back up with nightly church.

CHRISTMAS

We celebrated Christmas well with a church service from 9pm-1am. We danced and laughed and had much fellowship. After a late night/early morning McDonald’s run, followed by a few hours of sleep, my squad woke up for a sweet secret Santa. We later had team time, after visiting our neighbor’s shop. We all sung karaoke and sat in a circle for white elephant. We had a lovely dinner at one of our best friend’s homes while meeting all of her family. Carter, Ellie and I were invited into the neighbor’s home. They served us juice and we danced with everything we had in us. This was such a special night and I had the opportunity to live in the Lord’s intentionally through the day. I saw His hand through it all and am so grateful for my Savior who came humbly in love.

A PIECE OF MY 🤍

On Tuesday, a few of us visited the Rohingya village, playing and praying and hugging them all. It was a tender time and I just know the Lord desires revival in their community. What a blessing it is to be His hands and feet!

I’m having a hard time processing all of the blessing I get to walk through, and therefore explaining them, but, each day, even if it’s hard, I fall asleep basking in the presence of the Lord. He’s here and moving in intentionally each day. His hand is evident and His face is being seen. Revival is happening and He’s winning souls all around. All glory to God in the highest!🙌

Also, could use prayers of health-for myself and my squad:) TIA!

RANDOM, BUT…..

My favorite song in this season = “Absolutely Yes” by Torchbearers

THOUGHTS…

•Stripes are really a World Race thing

•Living interruptably is worth everything you’d lay down

•TRULY, nothing is our own – not sleep, not desires, not preferences, not time, not space, not anything else you can imagine. Give it all back to God!

•It’s so beautiful to be intentional

•I kind of love packing in a chicken bus

•Durian is just as described

•I wanna be this hospitable

•Get uncomfortable

Ok, bye bye friends…I love you all:)
